Hi! Today I have some (depressing) news, but let’s save that to the end and pop right to United Force! Today it is kinda short because I didn’t really have enough time to work on it.

Fierce Flyer

“Lucky Wing! LW?” Fierce Flyer hollered. He was getting seriously frustrated. He kept going straight, but little did he know he was going farther and farther away from his target and closer into enemy grounds. Fortunately,  he was going round in circles, so he didn’t reach Villain HQ. “Ugh!” He yelled impatiently, completely annoyed.

Then, his peace element malfunctioned because his brain was thinking the opposite. Fierce Flyer accidentally sent out an electromagnetic wave that destroyed everything in a 100-mile radius.

Lucky Wing, who was just a few minutes away, woke up because she heard the blast coming five seconds before it hit her. She used her energy to reflect the wave off her body and back in the direction it came from. “Wait.” She thought aloud. “The only person on this planet who has Mind Control is–” She gasped. “Fierce Flyer! Oh no… a blast of that calibre is sure to destroy him even before it touches him.” So, using her luck, she turned the wave back around, and absorbed it in the energy balls she had formed earlier, making her stronger and more immune to it.

“Since it had come from the north-east, I’m sure I’ll be able to track him, and by the end of the week, would’ve found him!”

So, I hope you enjoyed that chapter! So the news is… I’m travelling abroad for a month! I am not really sure if we’ll have Wi-Fi, but cross your fingers. We might not be back until the end of July– and how I’ve just been informed that we will have Wi-Fi…

Ibleeibleeiblee that’s all, folks!

Where Have I Been?

Hello! I hope you like my extra-long post! Today I am re-making a series (The Islands will be judged on:

  • Island Storyline
  • Difficulty
  • Characters
  • Graphics
  • Bad glitches)

That we had, like, a month ago, and giving y’all a new series! The name of the new series is…

Popping the Charts!

And, I made two awesome murals for both series! Here is the Island Showdown mural…

And here is the Popping the Charts mural!

I hope you like them. Anyway, the new series will be once a week or once every two weeks, depending on my schedule, or the data I collect. I am going to start this series next week! Wait, but before I start this, you guys are all probably asking, “Wait, what’s this series going to be about anyway?” I have the answer to your question, my dear friends. I am going to be taking a vote on Discord, this blog, Gmail, or anywhere else that I can contact you Poptropicans on, and ask questions like Out of Twisted Thicket and Great Pumpkin Island, what is your favorite Island? Or (I have to get the people’s permission/consent before I do such questions) Out of… um… Magic Sinker and Cheerful Star, who is your favorite? Of course, questions will differ majorly.

Now, for today’s real post. The remake of Island Showdown! We are going to be taking two islands from Poptropica and Poptropica Worlds, and putting them up against each other. In the end, we will see which island is declared winner! There are many different mixes of islands we can do with this series, so I doubt it will take a short time to get finished.

The two Islands we will be doing today are: Counterfeit Island and Escape from Pelican Rock!

First, we’ll start with Escape from Pelican Rock Island and, as we all know, it’s the island where you get to meet our least favorite villain the Booted Bandit, and where you get framed. Then, you have to spend time in jail, meeting new characters that help you escape and take the real villain to jail. It’s also the last real island (Monkey Wrench doesn’t count) on Classic Poptropica, and will probably always be. Let’s start!

I explained the synopsis in Layman’s Terms, but let’s get down to the real stuff. You lad on the Island, and all seems serene and peaceful. But alas, not everything is as it seems. Go to the left, and a thief is stealing a poor old woman’s purse. S/he dashes right past you. Being the hero you are, you follow them up the hill, and get framed up at the tower.

At the prison, you are entitled to food, water, and shelter. Apparently, anything else you get is a privilege. Come next day, you go to recreation and mingle with the jail mates. Blah blah blah, Flashy hating you, blah, blah blah, toughest prisoner hating you, and trying to attack you. Drill, fall in line, all that stuff.

You go to work, which is making number plates. Fun fact: One of the number plats is PHB-1, which is a reference to The Poptropica Help Blog! Here’s where it starts to get interesting!

When you go to lunch, you take a spoon and sit down with Patches. The two prisoners near you start talking about the crumbling walls, etc., etc. Now I think y’all get the gist of this island, finding a way to break out of prison.

I personally think the storyline is good, but could be better by having more plot twists and the like. All in all, I think it is a good storyline, after all the developments over the years.

So, for this category, EFPR gets a One (1)! (Let me explain: there are five categories for each Island, and at the end of one category, you can get anything between Zero(0) and One(1) with Zero being the lowest and One being the highest.)

To me, this island is way too difficult. It was marked three whole skulls on the map! I mean, they’re stress you out if you are stuck on a particularly hard part. Don’t get me wrong: when I played this island, it was super fun. But the Creators should have made it a small bit easier, in my opinion. I’m truly sorry, but this category gets a…

I love the eccentric characters on Pelican Rock Island (not including the pelicans)! Most of them are amicable, except Flashy, the-prisoner-who’s-name-I-have-forgotten-who-has-a-missing-eye, and the Booted Bandit. Their clothes are a bit plain, but nevertheless the simpler the better. I also like Van Nostrard’s shirt. The characters’ personalities are also very unique, ranging from sly and stuck up to know-it-all to kind and mysterious. This category gets a…

The graphics of the Island are like any other Sound Updated Island’s, but since this is one of the newest islands, the scenery looked better and more professional. The two scenes I liked the most were Main Street and one of the last scenes where your Potropican is chased up the fishing area to the tower. The scenes that I liked the least were the sleeping areas and the roof area. Tis category also gets a… You guessed it…

I don’t really know/have experienced any glitches, but my close friend BraveBurger has, glitch being her falling through the ceiling in the vent and ending up in the Mess Hall. Wait. Actually, I have had a glitch, I fell through the ceiling in the vent and ended up in the Work Area, with nobody in there. We both had to restart. Apart from that, there are no other glitches I’ve gone through. It again, gets a

So, Escape from Pelican Rock Island gets…

Some of the world’s most famous artwork is on display at the Island’s museum, but rumor has it someone’s out to steal it. Can you explore the dark and dangerous side of the online virtual world Counterfeit Island and save the day in the cracking canvas caper?

I actually haven’t played this island, but nonetheless I have to continue. I think it has a fine storyline, not too bad but not “WOW” either. So, to be fair, this island’s storyline gets a…

This island isn’t as difficult as some other islands in Poptropica in my opinion. Yes, it has either two or three skulls (I’ve forgotten), but EFPR was more hard. But still, I think this island balanced out the difficulty so it also gets a…

The characters on Counterfeit Island are smashing. I mean, just think about Black Widow! She’s cunning, has a unique backstory and personality, and is really smart. She even managed to get onto Super Villain Island! She’s my second favorite Villain, but, of course, we all like Dr. Hare. This island also has the infamous Balloon Boy! This gets a…

I didn’t really like the graphics on the island, because it was the tenth Poptropica Island so it was definitely a Non-SUI, and all of you know that I don’t like the graphics of Non-SUIs. But, I like the scenery of this island. So, due to that fact, this island gets a…

This island, due to it being very old, has many glitches. These glitches range from the Restart Island glitch to the Invisible Wall glitch to the Balloon Boy glitch, which have not yet been patched, I don’t think I fancy this island in this category very much. Therefore, it gets a…

Zero(0) Whe, whe, weoooow…

So, Counterfeit Island gets…

So, Escape from Pelican Rock Island wins! I hope y’all enjoyed my derpy pictures!

Thanks for reading! Bye!

I’m Back!

Hi this is BraveBurger! Wow, I have not been posting for a while please my apologies but I was away! So I have no clue what is going on in Poptropica or in reality so please I don’t care if you boo me its fine but right now I am completely clueless!

Boo me if you like (I don’t really care). Anyway, so about Poptropica… I have heard that Magic Sinker got a better look now and that the glitch is over and ya if you already know this then boo me (again)! I have nothing much more to say except bye, I hope to be posting more often.

P.S: Sorry for the short post!

Worlds vs. Classic: An In-depth Review

Bonjour, mon Poptropicamis! Today I am going to do an in-depth review of Poptropica Worlds vs. Poptropica Classic. The categories for today are:

  • Sound effects
  • Graphics
  • Islands
  • Poptropicans
  • Store Items
  • Gameplay/Mechanics
  • Glitches & Glitching

Alright, let’s pop to it!

The sound effects on Worlds are way better than those of Classic. But, we still have to consider the fact that Poptropica Worlds came after Sound Updated Islands, so it’s a no-brainer that the sound effects will have more quality and effect on the listener. Back to the point. For example, On Crisis Caverns, normal Music is playing when you land on Main Street and go into the building on the right. But, danger music is played in the caves. On Home Island, the same music that is played on Classic is also played. I think it can—will get better as more islands are added to

Until 2013, Virus Hunter Island, there have been little/no hearings of music in the World of Poptropica. The only ones I’ve heard are the ones on Back Lot and Ghost Story Islands, where when the player is acting scenes (the music is really soft, I had to strain my ears to actually hear it), and on Ghost story where the violinist walks in and says something to the tune of “did I scare you, dearie?” This was ranked as one of the scariest encounters on Poptropica. But, as the game developed more and more, music was finally heard on Virus Hunter! I think the sound effects on Poptropica are better than those of Poptropica Worlds. My own opinion, please do not rant about this.

The winner of this round is…

Poptropica Worlds!

It’s newer and more improved, frankly!

Simply, the graphics I’ve seen on Poptropica Worlds were better than I expected. Remember this video? Yes, I thought that the graphics were going to be terrible, but they have really improved from that video (Gameplay is another story…). I doubt everybody likes this idea, but I like the drop shadow on the Poptropicans’ faces, and eyes. It makes them look more professional, more… real.

The background/backdrop are simply stunning. If this category was only for background, Worlds would win.

I love the graphics on Poptropica Classic. They weren’t as rushed. I mean, what do you expect for a game that has been in existence for 9 nine going on ten years? Worlds has been here for merely a month. He Poptropicans’ parts fit perfectly with each other, the backdrop is pretty (but not as stunning), and the movement is smooth. I have never had any graphics glitches o Poptropica, but let’s not talk about graphics glitches on Worlds…

Poptropica Classic!

It has been around for long, I don’t think there’s any more room for development!

There are only two islands on Worlds (at the time I was writing this), so it’s pretty straightforward. Not only that, but I feel like the Creators didn’t put a lot of time and thinking into the one playable island, Crisis Caverns. The pot somehow feels a bit “rushed” to me, because, forgive me, but all you do is land on the island, get deer antlers, get a badge, save the mole people, get an egg (which was, actually, one of the items we were supposed to get!), and so on and so forth. But, every game has a humble start! Early Poptropica wasn’t that good, either. Let’s give Worlds a chance.

Here is a picture of part of the map, courtesy of The Creators’ Blog

I think this game hands-down wins this category. Reason being, there are 40+ islands on Poptropica, and only one on Worlds. Sure, Worlds is new, but this is one of the reasons to trust Poptropica Classic more on having the experience to make better islands. Yes, I know that Poptropica is by the same people as Poptropica Worlds, and yes, I know that Poptropica won’t be updated any more. But while it was still being updated, the islands had some thought put into them! (Don’t get me wrong, oldies are goldies).

Poptropica Classic defeats Worlds again!

40+ Islands and 58 medallions to win!

No offense meant to anyone, but I really do not like the Poptropicans on Worlds. I think I am just being biased, but the Poptropicans glitch so much. I don’t think anyone is really used to the look of the Poptropicans, but we will get used to them someday. What is new are the hand-shaped hands instead of balls, taller height, and shoes. Those are the three main reasons, but the shadows, as I mentioned earlier, are also different. I like them. In the “Unleleased” version, my Bleachy Boy swam on land (yes, I still am Bleachy), and his legs dislocated off his body. ‘Nough said.

I am pretty used to them, but I don’t really like their legs and feet. They just looked… “Unrealistic” to me, as I was seven or eight when I started playing Poptropica. They move seamlessly, though. But, I also like how Magic Sinker looks in Poptropica way more than my Bleachy Boy that I can even call a Poptropican.

Tie! Both had Pros and Cons.

I like the Worlds store items only because they included a house for Poptropicans. In Classic, we could only make so called “houses” by building them on Realms. (Another reason to get membership: more rooms in your house!). Now, not only do we get to have houses, we also get to decorate them by buying things from the Store!

I also love the outfits, though there is not really a wide range of outfits in the store. ANd there aren’t any powerups (e.g. Atom Power)

The store items in Classic have grown in quality and quantity over these many nine or so years. I don’t know your opinion, but to me the costumes seem a little bit repetitive in some weird way. Nonetheless, I still love the costumes.

Poptropica Worlds.

I just love the outfits and designs.

Um… I have no idea where to start on this category. Maybe…

The island (as I said) was rushed and the glitches on Home Island are cringeworthy. The way the Poptropicans run is also bad, but I guess it will improve over time. As the Creators say, Poptropica took 9 years to develop!

The gameplay and mechanics are perfect. The Poptropicans running and swimming look realistic. Guess who won this category?

I think you guessed right. Poptropica Classic.

There is glitching, but not in the good way. Since Worlds runs on Unity and WebGL, none of the glitches were carried over to the new Poptropica. Since Poptropice Worlds opened, glitches such as Bleachy Boy– what the Poptropica Community has dubbed a glitch that removes your mouth, hair, changes you into a male regardless of their gender, and turns your skin tone snow-white– hence the name bleachy. There was also the swim on water glitch in the earlier stages.

There weren’t as many bad glitches, except not being able to do certain things on an island, like one time BraveBurger was trying to complete Shrink Ray Island, she wasn’t able to get the coordinates from CJ. She restarted the island twice–still no improvement. But there were ASGs and then there was iPop, and the credits glitch.

Obviously, Classic wins.

Classic wins by a very narrow margin! By one round!

Thank you for bearing through this very long post. I hope you enjoyed! Sincerely,

~Gamer Gal

It’s Summer! It’s Summer!

N.B: Should I really continue this blog? I feel like nobody is even reading this anymore, so it could end up as a time-waster for all of you guys reading. Please answer the above questions.

Hey guys! Sorry, I have not been able to post for long, I was getting ready for (drumroll…) Summer Holidays! School ended today at 12:00P.M, but sadly, BraveBurger won’t be able to post (98.09% sure) because she left to the States, and is coming back in August. Greedy Clown is still here but is also on holiday, so I think only when she comes over will she be able to post until August.

Anyway, there has been lots of news while I was on my short break from blogging. Many blogs have grown, and Worlds has fixed some glitches such Bleachy Boy (I haven’t seen it work on Magic-S)! If you didn’t already know, Bleachy Boy is the glitch that turns your avatar into a boy regardless of your gender, turns your skin tone and hair (you have to buy hair to get hair if you have the Bleachy Boy glitch) white, and removes your mouth– refresh your browser to remove the glitch.

The Cars 3 advert has also come out, the first ad to come out on both Worlds and Original. And possibly we have “endless customization options” which I personally doubt is possible–yet.

According to the Creators’ blog, there are many other rooms such as the kitchen, living room, bedroom and so on and so forth. I haven’t really been focused on Poptropica as much as I have end-of-school activities, but now I will decorate my house and send in a picture of my PopWorldsan, too.

Here are some pictures of the following mentioned above:

Now, here is (another drumroll…) United Force! Poor Lucky Wing, getting lost again…

 Lucky Wing & Fierce Flyer

“Ok,” said LW, panting seriously, “we are halfway there. And running from that pack of wolves was not easy at all. I literally had to carry you all the way since you were asleep!”

“2,500 miles to go! I can’t bear it any longer!” Said Fierce Flyer.

“Ya don’t say! And how ironic! There’s a pack of bears (Ooh! That rhymes!) headed our way! Scram!

So they  headed in different directions, the bears getting confused. But they didn’t see each other the rest if the day.

Levathia was really scared. ‘Why can’t they just come home by themselves? And why do have to go.’ She thought to herself.

“I better just levitate myself avove the footpath, and look for them.”

        Lucky Wing

“Oh, no, where the cat am I?” Lucky Wing, shivering, muttered to herself, strongly opinionated that she had really and truly run mad.

Suddenly, as if by some very biased ‘luck’, Lucky Wing found a ledge leading up to an anonymous place. She had never been to this part of the forest before. She was mortified. Lucky Wing was aeroacrophobic, acro/altophobic, aeronausiphobic, aerophobic, and anemophobic. This place fit all these phobias.  But she had to. Otherwise it meant certain death, one way or another.

She knew the villains were after them.

United Force and a new Sneak-Peek!

Hi! At the end of this post,  I have a sneak peek/synopsis of the new series I am writing for PopWorlds. Let the stories… commence!

What if you loved in a failing world with nothing to hold on to in the long run? Some of us do. Including me, Magic Sinker. Living in one of these dystopian worlds is tough enough to go through, living in two is terror. But I have a plan, a plan to put the pieces of Poptropica back together, to turn this place back into the utopia it was before we were brutally forced to migrate south to the “all-new Poptropica Worlds. I am Magic Sinker, and this is my story.

*By this time, the Earth had been destroyed.

Now the story!

Back to the Story…

“What are we going to do about our Firece Flyer and Lucky Wing crisis?” Said Arrow.
“We go look for them… but no! The villains are on the loose!”
At this point, everyone had ideas, from going into anarchy to disguising themselves as villains, but the idea that really stood out was…
“What about sending a dummy to go look for them, and activating their GPS so that if, only if they don’t return in three days’ time, we will track them and try our luck beating the villains. If only we had Lucky Wing the PoptropiBorg here with us, we would have luck on our side!” This idea came from Magnette.
“But who will this dummy be? Lets take a vote. I will call out a name, and we will say ‘aye’, if we want them to be the dummy. Then I will calculate, and we will see who has the most ‘ayes’.” Said Sneaky Lightning, the smartest of them all.
The one who came out on top was Leviatha! Only because Fierce Flyer had also been captured, too.
“Okay, then! Lemme go! Magnette, activate my GPS!”
Once it was activated and connected to the projector (as it had a microscopic camera on it), Leviatha, youngest Elemental of all, left into the wilderness.

Back at Villain HQ…

“Where are the hostages! I demand to see them now! Or I will strike you all down with my lightningbolts! You know what happens when you make the bosses of higher power MAD! I don’t know, either. But show them to me!” Zeus boomed.
“Um, uh– we will get them just now, sir!” Said the mortified Black Widow.
“Go!” Zeus was in a bad mood.
Upon reaching, they only saw a half-asleep Booted Bandit, who was struggling to get out of the Chains.”
“What the Cryptid happened here! Were have our prisoners gone! ?!@$*&@!” Said Gretchen Grimlock, who had only just been transferred from Highest-order villain to Mission-Completer-Lab-Rat. The only Highest-order villains left were Director D, Mr Silva, Ringmaster Raven, Omegon, Binary Bard and a few others.
She ferociously ripped off the Booted Bandit’s tape, found a master key and unlocked them.
“Start explaining!” She said, tapping her foot and her eyes burning into to the Booted Bandit’s soul.
“They tricked me!” The Booted Bandit said, hesitating.
Grimacing, Gretchen Grimlock gave the Booted Bandit a resounding, painful and paralysing blow to the face.
“But-but didn’t we send a bug to record their every move?” Said the scarred Myron Van Buren, with Octavian nodding.
“Yes, servant. Yes we did. But on my home planet, the Elemental that was there had Magnetics so she was able to disable the bug. Now you better go and find the hostages, and you guys are lucky that I am now in a happy mood, as I have shut down Zeus’ body until I am satisfied with your performance.” Boomed Titanium Mistress, from planet Qubrion V96.

 Yes boss.” They all said.

Poptropica Has Not Been Forgotten!

Hi, Magix here with all you lovely Poptropica Peeps! Howd’ya like mah lists the last time I posted? Right now I am working on a pointilism-anime me. I will post a picture when done. A note for today, BraveBurger is having some technical difficulties, so she cannot post! And congratulations to Fierce Flyer for getting on the Community Creations on the PHB!

I first want to start with the new updates Poptropica has given the map, which I’ll try to get the pictures up as soon as possible, as now I am not with my laptop.

Remember this post? There has been lots of well-deserved hype for Poptropica Worlds, but it is clear that Poptropica Classic has not been forgotten by the Creators or the players.

But Poptropica Worlds is in the spotlight now! Some sneak peeks show that home island will be remastered (again;)!) And, I know many of you have seen this already, but the locked doors are supposed to be a house “expansion” which is another Members Only addition.

Here, on Twitter (which I will add the picture as soon as I can), we see that the Creators are actually coming up with fixes to our glitches in Worlds! They also sent a message to me.
So, in conclusion, just try to enjoy, more islands are coming and it will get better! Magic Sinker out!
